Everett R. Wilson, 74, died July 21 at the Wickenburg Nursing Home.
Mr. Wilson was born March 25, 1916.
He had served as general superintendent of thoroughbred racing at the Monmouth Park Jockey Club in Oceanport, N.J., since its construction in July of 1946 until his retirement in the fall of 1979.
He was a life member of the national Greenskeepers Association, and was a Master Mason of the Caesarea Lodge in Keyport, N.J. He also was a member of the Elks Lodge in Wickenburg.
After moving to Wickenburg year-round in 1979 with his wife Phyllis, who preceded him in death in August of 1989, he served as president of the Wickenburg Country club for many years and became a member of the St. Anthony of Padua church of Wickenburg.
He is survived by two sons, William E. Wilson of Highlands, N.J., and Gary Wilson of West Long Branch, N.J.; six grandchildren William, Catherine, Tammy, Michael, Holly and Everett; and many friends.
Services were held at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
It is the family’s desire that any donations in Everett’s name be made to the Monmouth Park Charity Fund in Oceanport, N.J. 07757 of to St. Anthony of Padua Church in Wickenburg.
