GREUEL, Frank I.


Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona August 2, 1990 Franklin I. Greuel, 70, of Wickenburg died Monday, July 23 at a hospital in Baker City, Ore. Mr. Greuel was born Oct. 14, 1919 in Garnett, Wisc. He had lived in Arizona for the past 10 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the U.S.S. Lexington, which was sunk during the Battle of the Coral Sea. He served eight years in the Navy, and then remained in the Naval Reserve for 20 years as a Chief Petty Officer. During his retirement, he and his wife, Rosina, who survives him, traveled across the west doing recreational mining. Mining was his hobby. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bruce, of San Francisco; five daughters, Frances Gasper of Sheboygan Falls, Wisc., Beverly McIntoch and Margaret Lilyquist, both of Sheboygan, Nancy Kuehl of Oconomowoc, Wisc., and Diane Fritzsche, of McHenry, Ill.; a brother, Eloy Greuel of Fond DuLac, Wisc.; two sisters, Virginia McCormack of Milwaukee and Carol Sullivan of West Bend, Wisc.; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services are planned at a later date.
