Ray Tidd, 79, of Wickenburg died Sept. 6 in the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott.
Mr. Tidd was a retired professional Western artist who was one of the founding artist s of the Phippen Memorial weekend show in Prescott.
He was born April 9, 1918 in Locksberg, Ark.
He moved to Wickenburg from Estes Park, Colo. In 1971, and had a summer home in Prescott since 1981.
During his career as an artist, Mr. Tidd had been featured in Southwest Art and Western Horseman magazines. He was also a medalist winner at the Phippen Memorial Art Show.
He served in the army during World War II, in the 53rd Infantry in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was decorated with the Bronze Star with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Leona; and four brothers, Herman of Wickenburg, Roy of Longview, Wash., Junior of Ocean Park, Wash., and Floyd of Mesa.
