Richard Luverne
Richard Luverne Bauer, 69, of Glendale, Arizona passed away at his home on Feb. 29, 2004 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
He was the son of Russell and Golda (Vulgamott) Bauer and was born in Webster City, Iowa on Oct 12, 1934.
Richard grew up on farms in Iowa. He graduated from Fort Dodge, Iowa high school in 1952. He served with the Webster City National Guard unit. He farmed and owned a semi trucking business in Iowa. In 1987 he moved to the Phoenix, AZ area working for dealerships in truck and auto parts departments. He was a member of the Community Church of Joy.
Richard is survived by his wife, Eileen of Glendale, AZ, son Jeffery (Darla) Bauer of Lake Park, IA, daughter Elaine (Gene) Miller of Beresford, SD, daughter Rhonda Bauer (Wayne Amabile) of Colorado Springs, CO, stepchildren Shelly (Jeff) Coon of Clive, IA, Jane (Larry) Luppen of Corwith, IA, Beth (Mitch) Nichols of Ankeny, IA, and eight grandchildren. Brothers, Derrald (Sally) Bauer of Centerville, IA, Garry (Pat) Bauer of Bettendorf, IA and sister Judy (Richard) Olson of Ft. Dodge, IA and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial service and visitation was at Community Church of Joy, 21000 N. 75th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85308 on Wednesday March 3rd, 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Church of Joy and the American Cancer Society
