CROSS, Ruth

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Saturday, February 12, 2011 Ruth Cross walked through Heaven's gates, Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at 97 years of age. Born Dec. 17, 1913, in Pueblo, Colo., she grew up in California, before retiring to Prescott in the late '70s with her husband Frank. Ruth was committed to helping others volunteering at the Adult Center, Newcomers, Veterans Hospital, Meals on Wheels, American Legion, Elks 330, AYSO, and Noon Lioness Club; all organizations helped her to share her love of people. She is survived by her daughters, Jeanne Bowers and Donna Jonkey; sons-in-law, Gordon Bowers and Loren Jonkey; grandchildren, Karen, Jeff, Scott and Rebecca; great granddaughters, Lauren, Teresa, Melissa, Emilee and Hope. A memorial service will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Willow Wind, 3911 Aster Drive, Prescott, Ariz. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Willow Wind Scholarship Fund.
