Guadalupe Anguiano Lopez, Sr., died Thursday, March 31, 2005, at his home in Winslow. He was 80.
He was born Oct. 16, 1924, in Winslow to Isaac and Dolores (Anguiano) Lopez. He served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He was married for 56 years to Virginia (Ono) Lopez, and together they operated a hometown bar, Arrowhead Liquors, for more than 45 years.
Mr. Lopez loved the outdoor life. His main interests were his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bernie, Fernando, Johnny and Isaac Lopez; sisters Pauline, Ferna and Della; and numerous nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lopez; sons Guadalupe A. Lopez, Jr., and Gilbert Joseph Lopez; daughters Irene (Boney) Candelaria and Sandra Reyes; sisters Anselma Lopez of Denver and Guadalupe (Richard) Andrade of Gallup, N.M.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Holy rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Winslow. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Father Frank Chacon on Tuesday at 10 a.m., also at St. Joseph's. Interment will be in Desert View Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Greer's Mortuary, Winslow.
