In loving memory of Lucas Byron Dunbar, 31, who suddenly passed away February 5, 2011. Luke was a loving son, brother and grandson. He is survived by his parents Mike and Kristie of Lake Havasu City; his brothers Peter, Las Vegas, and Zach, Lake Havasu City; his grandmother Vonnie Tiegen, Depoe Bay, Ore., as well as many extended family and friends.
Luke was born November 1, 1979, to Mike and Kristie in Silver Spring, Md. He graduated from Marina High School, Huntington Beach, Calif. where he excelled in football and track. Luke then attended Golden West College where he once again excelled in football and track. Luke moved to Lake Havasu City where he worked and enjoyed activities on the Lake and in the desert.
Luke was a big loveable character who loved children. Those who knew him loved him. He was very close to his family and was a continual source of support to his brothers. Luke always wanted to defend and protect others. Luke volunteered in youth sports for years and loved hearing about the successes of those he helped coach. Luke had moved to Norman, Okla. where he worked for Lowe’s and later owned his own catering business. Luke enjoyed fishing with his many friends in Norman, as well as with his uncle and cousin. Luke loved to come back to Havasu to fish and be with his family and friends. Luke will forever be our big loveable bear.
A private service for the immediate family was held for Luke at the Dunbar home.
The family requests that you hug your child and/or make a donation to any group that supports children, in memory of Luke.
