Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona November 14, 1990 Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for Kathryn 'Kate' Ywanow, 83, of Wickenburg, who died Nov. 18 at her home on Cope Road following a long illness. The Rev. Joe Stephens of Cleburne, Texas will officiate, with private cremation to follow. Mrs. Ywanow was born Nov. 25, 1906 in Chicago, Ill. she had lived in Arizona for the past 43 years, moving to Wickenburg in 1957 from Valparaiso, Ind. She was the owner of the Wickenburg Motel, which she operated for several years after moving to the community. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Blakely's Service Station until her retirement in 1977. Survivors include a daughter , Joyce Bennett of Camarillo, Calif.; three grandsons, Robert and William Spiking, both of El Paso, Texas, and Scott Bennett of Buckeye; two brothers, Frank Rokos of Wickenburg, and Carl Rokos of Crown Point, Ind.; and six great-grandchildren, all of El Paso.
