SAHHAR, George Hanna


George Hanna Sahhar, 72, of Phoenix Arizona, went to be with Jesus on March 25, 2001. He was born in Bethlehem, Palestine on September 25, 1928, to Hanna Boutros and Ajia Abdulla Sahhar. He leaves behind Antoinette, his beloved wife of 47 years; eight children: John Sahhar, Mary & Peter Prodromo, Rita & Anwar Masad, Bill & Tracy Sahhar, Hana Sahhar, Carol & George Sahhar, Robert & Glynnda Sahhar, and Tom & Stacie Sahhar. He was known as "Sedo" to his 17 grandchildren: Evan, George, Dunia, Charles, Melissa, Sami, Selwa, Mathew, Musa, Natalina, Daniel, Antoinette, Ibrahim, Noelle, John, Dominick and one due any day now. George has two brothers, Peter Sahhar and Dr. Fred Sahhar; and six sisters, Elaine Sahar, Alice Abuhamad, Badia Fiore, Najla Batarseh, Lily Bent and Rose Gallemore. George was a graduate of Grand Canyon University; he served on the board of directors for Saint Mary's Food Bank, and was the treasurer of the B.P.OE. Lodge 2729 in Phoenix. George dedicated his life to assisting others. Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ. Please join us in a celebration of his life on Thursday, March 29, 2001 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Phoenix, 3100 W. Camelback, Phoenix, AZ.
