Vernon Leon Blundell, 67, of Wickenburg died January 4 in Wickenburg Community Hospital.
Mr. Blundell was born July 3, 1924 in Alex, Oklahoma. He had lived in Arizona for the past four years.
He was a retired sergeant from the U.S. Army, who served in World War II, Korea, Vietnam and the Dominican Republican conflict. He later served 20 years with the Chrysler Corp.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; two daughters, Terry Blundell of Medmetamora, Michigan and Pat Blundell of Wichita, Kansas; two sons, Michael and Steve Blundell, both of Michigan; four brothers, Marshall of Wickenburg, Eldon of Caney, Kansas, M.A. of Roscomon, Michigan and Ralph of Hemet, California; three sisters, Lois Coasts of Anthony, Kansas, Avis Holland of Waskaloa, Hawaii and Mildred Turner of Elk City, Oklahoma; step-children Rich and Kathy Benton of Phoenix, and Steve and Connie Benton of Wheatland, Iowa; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services in Wickenburg for Mr. Blundell will be at the American Legion hall on Saturday, January 18.
Services will be Thursday, January 9 in Mason, Michigan. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Mason.
