The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 8, 1992, p. 2 Marguerite E. Watson, 77, of Congress died January 3 in Wickenburg Community Hospital. Mrs. Watson was born May 14, 1914 in Lansing, Michigan. She had lived in Congress only briefly, moving to the community several weeks ago from Oklahoma to live with her daughter, Marie Horner. Mrs. Watson married Russell Watson on December 28, 1933. He preceded her in death in April 1969. She retired after 25 years at Luke Air Force Base, working in transportation. She was an active member of the Adair, Oklahoma Eastern Star of Chelsea, Oklahoma, Rebekah Lodge of Adair, Amaranth Hope, and for the past 12 years was a member of the Chelsea Church of Christ. Mrs. Watson was a lifelong member of the AFGE. She received several certificates of recognition for her work as a clerk-typist at the Luke AFB. Over the past eight years, she served as a Grey Lady for the Indian Hospital in Claremore, Oklahoma. Mrs. Watson’s aunt, Jessie, rented Henry Ford a buggy barn, where he built his first car. The barn is now part of the Henry Ford Museum in Greenfield, Michigan. Mrs. Watson had been a Phoenix resident since the early 1950s and had moved to Oklahoma with her daughter several years ago. Survivors include three daughters, Hope Anderson of Northwood, Ohio, Marie Horner of Congress and Loretta “Lolly” Rogers of Italy, Texas; a sister, Bernice White of Petoski, Michigan; a half-brother, Robert Service of Mio, Michigan; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Services were Tuesday, January 7 at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Phoenix. Pastor Ed Moltos officiated. Memorial contributions may be made to Adair Eastern Start Lodge, Chapter No. 443, Adair, Oklahoma, or the Texas Children’s Colony.
