CROWLEY, William T. Jr


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 15, 1992, p. 3 Memorial services are scheduled Thursday for former Arizona Senator William T. Crowley, Jr. who died at Phoenix Baptist Hospital Monday. Mr. Crowley, 73, who was born in Chicago, is survived by his second wife, Sandra, his children, William C. “Blue” Crowley III, Michael J. T., Edmond Albert, Kathleen Ann, Philip Vincent and Patty Louise, as well as several grandchildren. Mr. Crowley, an Arizona resident for 42 years, was a member of the state Senate from 1966-1968, served as a member of the Alhambra School Board and was a member of the Arizona School Board Association. He was educated at John Marshall University and DePaul University in Chicago and was a member of St. Louis the King Catholic Church. Mr. Crowley was a past president of the St. Vincent DePaul Society. He worked as a photographer and was an Arizona state employee before his election as a senator. A World War II Army veteran, he toured 21 countries in 19 months during the war. He instilled in his children a desire for community service. His oldest son, “Blue”, who participates yearly in the Gold Rush Days mucking and drilling competition, worked to have Wickenburg included in the Regional Public Transit Authority’s latest transit plan. Memorial mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, January 16 at St. Louis the King Church in Phoenix. Burial will follow in the VA cemetery in Phoenix. Rosary is to be held today, Wednesday, January 15, at 7p.m. at the same church. The Crowley family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society.
