Phyllis Jensen Borchgrevink, 78, of Congress died January 23 in Wickenburg Community Hospital.
Mrs. Borchgrevink was born November 15, 1913 in Sterling, Colorado. She had lived in Arizona for the past seven years.
She grew up on her parents ranch near Ridge, Montana and later graduated from Belle Fourche (S.D.) high School.
She attended beauty school in Wisconsin and then worked as a beautician and taught cosmetology courses in college there. She later moved to Mississippi where she owned and operated her own salon and taught high school cosmetology.
She married Otto Borchgrevink in 1958. They lived on his ranch in Montana until 1982, when he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Borchgrevink was a winter visitor to Congress and lived year-round in the community beginning in 1989.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge in Lexington, Mississippi and contributed generously to many local community centers, nursing homes and churches. She was generous friend.
Services were January 27 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home and will also be Saturday, February 1 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.
Pastor Bob Harrison and the Rev. Elmer Peterson will officiate at the South Dakota services, with burial following in the Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nurses Scholarship Fund, Broadus, Montana.
