The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 1, 1992, p. 2 Glen L. Thompson , 84, of Wickenburg, died March 25 at Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West. Mr. Thompson was born 1908 in Henrietta, Ohio. He had lived in Arizona for the past 20 years, moving from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was a driver for Greyhound Bus Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1970. He was an active member of Wickenburg’s Friends of Music. According to Gloria Hinkel, “Friends of Music will miss Glen. We offer our deepest sympathy to his wife, Maxine. It was she who discovered the Sun City Chamber Ensemble and promoted the idea of free concerts in Wickenburg. They supported the program with time, attendance and dollars from day one.” Survivors include his wife, Maxine, of Wickenburg; a son, Chad Thompson of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; three daughters, Margaret Schrepfer of Haslett, Michigan, Jane Thompson of Whitmore Lake, Michigan and Sarah Gadon of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Private services will be conducted in Michigan. A memorial fund in Thompson’s name has been established for Friends of Music.
