KERR, Margaretha

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 3, 1992, p. 2 Margaretha Moore Kerr, 80 of Tucson died May 22. Mrs. Kerr and her husband Donald R. Kerr were former owners and operators of the Slash Bar K Ranch in Wickenburg, where they made their home for more than 25 years. Mrs. Kerr was active in many Wickenburg organizations, including Las Damas and the Wickenburg Soroptimist Club. She was past president of the Wickenburg Public Library Board of Directors and active in the development of the current local library. She was named “Woman of the Year” in 1970 by the Wickenburg Chamber of Commerce for her outstanding community service. Mrs. Kerr was a graduate of the University of Chicago and for many years was the book columnist for the Wickenburg Sun. She was a founding member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church and former Ladies Auxiliary president and Altar Guild Directress. She is survived by her husband Donald R. Kerr of Tucson, son Donald R. ”Sandy” Kerr, Jr. of Tallahassee, Florida, daughter, Karen Lawrence of Tucson, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Burial will be in the Kerr Family Plot in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon, Illinois.
