Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Thursday, February 17, 2011 Betty Jo Dugan, 78, of Flagstaff, died Feb. 12, 2011. Betty Jo was born and raised in Allock, Ky., on Jan. 6, 1933. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1953. She served as a Lt. J.G. in the United States Navy Nursing Corp from 1955-58. She married Donald Wallace Dugan on Dec. 15, 1956, and moved to Flagstaff in 1960. From 1960 to 1979, she worked as a registered nurse at Arizona State College's (now Northern Arizona University) Fronske Health Center, Public Health Nurse in Leupp, Flagstaff Medical Center, Grand Canyon Health Clinic and the Flagstaff Public School District. Mrs. Dugan graduated from Northern Arizona University with a B.S. in psychology in 1974. She also received her real estate sales license in 1979 and became the owner/broker of Evergreen Realty until her death. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed listening to marching band music. She loved her country and was proud to serve in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. Mrs. Dugan is survived by her husband, Donald Wallace Dugan; her children, Michael Stephen, Patricia Ann (Duane) Nelson, David Douglas and Donald Joseph (Amy); and her nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Northland Hospice, P.O. Box 997, Flagstaff, AZ 86002 or a charity of your choice. A memorial Mass will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on 224 S. Kendrick St., Flagstaff.
