The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ July 8. 1992, p. 2 George J. Brown, an eight-year resident of Wenden, died July 2 in Wickenburg. He was 77. A native of Portland, Oregon, Mr. Brown was born May 17, 1915. He had been a member of the Longshoreman’s Association and the Pacific Maritime Association; the Civilian Conservation Corps; and he enjoyed roller skating and motorcycle stunt riding. He lived in Quartzsite for 12 years before moving to Wenden in 1984. He and his wife Marjorie were married November 14, 1974 Mr. Brown also was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Wenden; step-sons Robert K. Amos of Oregon and Gary H. Amos of Washington; and four grandchildren. Visitation and funeral were held Monday, with Rev. Mathew Mampara officiating. Interment is at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg assisted the family with the arrangements.
