Frank R. Verdugo, a native of Wickenburg who most recently resided at Soquel, California, died June 23 at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California. He was 71.
Mr. Verdugo, who was a graduate of Wickenburg High School, was decorated in the United States Air Force as a pilot. He flew B-24 Liberators over Europe during World War II, completing 37 bombing missions.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Verdugo of Soquel; daughter Barbara Santy of Fremont, California; sons Frank Verdugo of Aptos, California and Anthony Verdugo of Soquel; brothers Ray Verdugo and Albert Verdugo of southern California; sister Emma Obregon of southern California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held June 26-27. Cremations followed with a burial at sea.
