KENT, Jay Phillip

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 2, 1992, p. 2 Jay Phillip Kent, a Wickenburg resident since 1985, died August 30 at Wickenburg Community Hospital. He was 83. A native of Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kent was born March 3, 1909. He had been a printer for several major newspapers before retiring after 50 years and was a member of the International Typographical Union. He and his wife lived in Clear Lake, California before moving to Wickenburg to be closer to their daughter Barbara. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Lloyd Pruitt of Wickenburg; daughters Jean Back of Cleaver, Missouri, Joan Barrett of Portola, California and Judy King of Galena, Missouri; sons Russell Kent of Fair Grove, Missouri, and Fred Kent of Denver; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth last April and his son George Thomas in 1988. Cremation services are scheduled for Thursday, September 3 with only family members attending. Entombment will be in the Glendale Resthaven Cemetery at a later date. All arrangements were handled by the Wickenburg Funeral Home.
