The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 30, 1992, p. 2 Douglas L. Ruger of Baker City, Oregon, a Wickenburg winter visitor, died September 23 at his home in Oregon. He was 69. Mr. Ruger was born June 19, 1923 in Hartington, Nebraska to Ben and Lillie Ruger. His early life was spent in South Dakota and Idaho. He was a carpenter by trade and a former member of the Eagles Lodge of Couer d’Alene, Idaho, and the carpenters union. Mr. Ruger was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He married Vivian Martin in Couer d’ Alene on November 21, 1944. Mr. Ruger is survived by his wife Vivian; brother Ben of Spokane, Washington; sisters Dolores McNeely of Charlotte, North Carolina and Joanne Dittiu of Des Plaines, Illinois. Services were held Monday, September 28 at the Mount Hope Cemetery with Pastor Loyd Phillips of the Baker Valley Christian Assembly officiating. Monroe Mortuary of Baker City was in charge of the arrangements.
