Wayne M. Sweetland of Salome died Monday September 21 in Phoenix.  He was 68.

Mr. Sweetland was born in Mount Hope, Kansas and later moved to California.  He moved to Arizona in 1947.

He was a retired postmaster, life member of VFW Post 3708, Hassayampa Mosonic Lodge of Wickenburg and La Paz County supervisor.

Mr. Sweetland is survived by his wife Lee; daughter Barbara Kent; sons Robert, William and Brant; nine grandsons  and one great-grandchild.

Services were held Friday, September 25 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

Shadow Mountain Mortuary of Phoenix handled the arrangements.
