C. Gifford “Mac” McDonald, a 56 year resident of Arizona and who lived in the Wickenburg area from 1953 to 1985 died at his home in Buellton, California on September 27.
“Mac” as he was known, owned and operated Mac’s Barber Shop on Tegner Street from 1953-1971 when he retired.
“Mac” was an avid horseman and during his younger years while riding in the Williams area and other Arizona communities played semi-pro baseball. He was also a 50 year member of the Odd Fellows and Rebeccas Lodge.
Mr. McDonald was born January 19, 1906 in Bellfonte, Arkansas. He married Maudie, his wife of 66 years in 1926. They had two children, a son Phillip who preceded him in death in 1976 and a daughter Brenda Morrison of Solvang, California.
He is survived by his wife Maudie, daughter Brenda, two sisters; Leona Holloway of Vallejo, California and Ethel Marshall of Harrison, Arkansas; two brothers, Walter and Ruble McDonald, both of Harrison; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held September 30 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ballard, California.
