Barbara C. Hovatter of Aguila died Thursday, December 10, 1992 at Wickenburg. She was 81 (just a few hours from her 82nd birthday).
She was born December 11, 1910 in New Hampshire and had lived in Arizona for 45 years, moving here from Rhode Island.
She was a member of Wollaston Chapter #156 of the Eastern Star for approximately 58 years, and a member of the Wickenburg Art Club. She was also a member of the Desert Botanical Garden of Phoenix for many years and a serious botanist who completed a book detailing the study of desert wild flowers.
Ms. Hovatter was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara, her first husband, Victor C. Guy and her second husband, D. Ray Hovatter.
She is survived by daughters; Jean Speer of Phoenix and Sandra Moore of Aguila, son-in-law Joe Moore of Aguila; grandchildren, Joe Moore, Barbara Speer and Ray Speer and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services have been held.
