The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ January 19, 1994, p. 3 John W. Runner of Wickenburg died January 11. He was 80. Mr. Runner was born July 30, 1913 in Liscom, Iowa and he had lived in Arizona for nine months, coming from Wyoming. He and his wife Marjorie were ranchers all their lives in Wyoming. After their retirement, they traveled around the country and eventually settled in Wickenburg. Mr. Runner was a member of the Mason Fraternity for more than 50 years and the Saratoga Lodge 14 in Saratoga, Wyoming. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marjorie; sons, Jack Runner of Wickenburg, Bill Runner of Kinnear, Wyoming, Bob Runner of Grand Island, Nebraska, Steward Runner of Faulkton, South Dakota and Tom Runner of W. Palm Beach, Florida; sister Jean Harrison of Denver, Colorado, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Runner was preceded in death by his grandson Donnie Runner, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held today, (Wednesday, January 19) at 12 p.m. at the Frey Funeral Home, 980 N. Tegner St., Wickenburg. Representatives of Wickenburg Masonic Lodge 37 Funeral Committee will officiate. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
