Richard “Dick” Emler of Wickenburg died January 31 in Sun City West. He was 80.
Mr. Emler was born May 5, 1913 in Donora, Pennsylvania and had lived in Arizona for 23 years moving from Michigan.
He was a member and former president of the Lions Club of Wickenburg, the Masonic Hassayampa Lodge 37 of Wickenburg, the Royal Arch of Masonry of Wickenburg, the York Rite of Freemasonry of Phoenix, the El Zaribah Shriner’s Club of Phoenix and the Wickenburg Shriner’s Club. Mr. Emler was also a former president of the Wickenburg Shriner’s Club for two years.
He was a retiree from the Safety Department of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan and was retired from the Phoenix Newspapers as Wickenburg’s district sales advisor. Mr. Emler was also employed by Westwick Mobil Home Sales in Wickenburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (February 3) at the First Presbyterian Church, 180 N. Adams St., Wickenburg with Pastor James Longstreet officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.
Mr. Emler is survived by his wife of 59 ½ years, Jean; daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Bob Cavenee of Winter Haven, Florida, Karen and Frank Rybski of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Margie and Skip Moor of Sierra Vista, Arizona; grandchildren Becky Manassa, Beth Longstreth, Richard Rybski, Shelley Rybski, Rikki Rose and Michael Moore; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Frey Funreal Home in Wickenburg handled all the arrangements.
