The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 2, 1994, p. 2 Robert C. Starr of Congress died January 30 in Wickenburg. He was 71. Mr. Starr was born September 14, 1922 in Summit Station, Ohio. He had lived in Arizona for 43 years. One of Mr. Starr’s greatest joys in life was his horses, having horses in Ohio and Arizona. He worked as a mechanic for the Reynolds Aluminum Company in Phoenix from 1952 to 1979. Mr. Starr was a staff member and union representative for the United Steel Workers of America in the Globe and Miami areas from 1979 to 1985. He became a member of the USWA Union in 1952. Mr. Starr was a member of the Masonic Lodge Alturas 537 in Ohio, continuing his membership after moving to Arizona. In Wickenburg, he was a member of the American Legion Kellis Draper Post 12 and was a former member of the Gold Shirt Gang. Mr. Starr was also a World War II veteran. His wife Dorothy always called him “The Good Samaritan”, since he would help anyone in need. Mr. Starr is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy; daughters Barbara Stracener of Phoenix, Nancy and son-in-law Frank Kawalec of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters Erma Davis of Florida, Hazel Berridge of White Hall, Ohio, Neva Wallick of White Hall, Ohio, and Pauline King of Canton Ohio; grandchildren Ted Heuring of Congress, Kevin Stanford of Albuquerque, Becki Hajdok of Phoenix, Brandon Stracener of Phoenix and B.J. Stracener of Phoenix; and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Starr was preceded in death by his parents, Emmet and Ethel Starr. Visitation was held Tuesday, February 1, at the Frey Funeral Home. The funeral was also held Tuesday at the Frey Funeral Home with Pastor Gary S. Golike officiating. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled all the arrangements.
