Claud S. Hovis of Congress died February 20 in Wickenburg. He was 87.
Mr. Hovis was born March 25, 1906 in Buckhorn, Missouri and had lived in Arizona for five years, moving here from California.
He was planer man in a saw mill in Burns, Oregon. He enjoyed hunting and gardening. Prior to entering the nursing home, he lived with his son and daughter-in-law in Congress.
Mr. Hovis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Mary Hovis of Congress; sons Ray Hovis of Ben Salem, Pennsylvania and Russell Hovis of Redding, California; daughter Edna Peterson of Peach Tree, Georgia; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella.
Funeral services and interment will be held at Lawncrest Memorial Park in Redding.
