Marjorie E. Warden of Wickenburg died March 31 at the Wickenburg Nursing Home. She was 79.
Mrs. Warden was born August 3, 1914 in Sioux, South Dakota and had lived in Arizona for 43 years.
She was raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with an older sister and younger brother. She earned her B.A. in elementary science from Cornell University.
In 1946 she married her husband George and in 1950 they moved to Arizona. She earned her teachers certificate from ASU in 1953 and started teaching the fourth grade in Wickenburg and continued for 14 years.
After her husband’s death in 1960, she taught in several places, including Aguila, Hackberry and Castle Hot Springs.
Mrs. Warden was the Wittmann School Librarian where she retired. After her retirement she became the Wittmann public librarian.
Mrs. Warden is survived by a step-grandson Doug Edmonds of Phoenix.
Private services have been held and interment was at the Wickenburg Cemetery.
