STONE, Loren V. (Stonie)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 13, 1994, p.2 Loren V. (Stonie) Stone of Wickenburg died April 2 at his home. He was 100. Mr. Stone was born January 28, 1894 in Olivia, Minnesota and had lived in Arizona for 37 years. He was a machinist, inventor, artist, poet and did woodworking on 15th century clock replicas. Mr. Stone also enjoyed doing latchhook rugs and when he lived in the St. Louis, Missouri area he worked on privately owned water craft. He has been a Wickenburg resident since 1957 and had worked for private telephone companies before any public telephone companies began. Before moving to Arizona, he lived in New York. Mr. Stone is survived by several cousins, including Walter and Pat Holkins of Temple, Texas and many friends in and around Wickenburg. Services have been held, and interment was in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor James Longstreet officiated. Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
