Arthur Earnest Carlile of Sun City and former Circle City resident died May 15 in Sun City. He was 77.
Mr. Carlile was born December 23, 1916 in Clarksville, Arkansas and had lived in Arizona for nine years, moving here from Washington.
He worked in aircraft and building homes the majority of his life and was a member of the IOOF since the 1940s. He and his wife are members of the Morristown Baptist Church.
For the last two years, Mr. Carlile worked as a volunteer playing in a country western bluegrass band at various service organizations, churches and nursing homes in the area. He was always helping others and was dedicated to his church activities.
Mr. Carlile is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marie; daughter Mary Beth Strasburg of Bellevue, Washington; sons Jarry Carlile of Renton, Washington and John C. Carlile of Hobart, Washington; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Thursday (May 17) from 9 to 10 a.m. at the South Peoria Baptist Church, corner of 90th Ave. and Peoria Ave. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at the church, with interment to follow at the Morristown Cemetery. Pastors James Hayes and Jack Kelley will officiate.
