HOWELL, Willie (Sonny)

The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ May 25, 1994, p. 2 Willie “Sonny” Howell Jr. of Wickenburg died May 18 in Flagstaff. He was 57. Mr. Howell was born February 13, 1937 in Columbia, Tennessee and had lived in Arizona for one year, moving here from California. He was a retired staff sergeant, serving 20 years with the U.S. Army. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His favorite past-times were golfing and fishing. Mr. Howell is survived by his wife Artie of Wickenburg; sisters Sue Pena, Rosemary Cross, Betty Plunkett and Paula Goodman, all of Columbia, Tennessee; and a brother Joe Wayne Howell, also of Columbia. Private services have been held and a family memorial service is planned at a later date in Columbia. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
