Bill J. Warwick of Aguila died May 24 in Phoenix. He was 63.
Mr. Warwick was born September 29, 1930 in Earth, Texas and had lived in Arizona for nine years, moving here from California.
He was employed by Northrup Aircraft for 37 years after graduating from California Flyers at the age of 17.
During his life, he designed and built numerous experimental airplanes. In the 1960s, he built the Thorp T-18 prototype airplane. He also raced biplanes at various air shows in the 1970s.
Mr. Warwick was a member of the EAA and the Antique Aircraft Association. He and his wife enjoyed all aspects of flying and motorhome touring during their many years together.
Mr. Warwick is survived by his wife Millie; daughter Suzi and son-in-law Lynn Wallace of Merced, California; granddaughter Kim Ochoa of Merced; brothers and sister-in-laws Jack and Darlene of Camarillo, California, Lin and Kay of Las Vegas, Nevada and Donnie and Edie of El Segundo, California; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Jessie.
Private memorial services will be held today (Wednesday, June 1) at Eagle Roost Airpark in Aguila.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
