KIMURA, Mitty M.


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, January 26, 2006 Mitty M. Kimura, age 86, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, in the Samaritan Village in Prescott, Ariz. Mitty was born Jan. 9, 1920, the son of Genichi and Yoshiye (Kanagawa) Kimura in Stockton, Calif. He was raised in Winton, Calif, and schooled in Livingston, Calif. He also attended the Armstrong Business College in Berkeley, Calif. Mitty would marry the former Mary Sakai on June 15, 1946. After the World War II evacuation, Mitty and Mary went to New York City. His entire career in New York City was with the Carl Fischer Music Publishing Company as a Controller. He retired in 1989. Mitty was active in community activities such as Yavapai Symphony Association, Yavapai College Events, etc. with his wife, Mary. Mitty is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Koichi and Valerie Kimura, and niece Lindsey, all of Winton, Calif., and Joyce and Toshio Okui of Tarzana, Calif., and also by a sister-in-law, Alice S. Sakai of Prescott, Ariz. Preceding Mitty in death was his wife of 59 years, Mary, on Nov. 19, 2005. A Celebration of Mitty's Life will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Fdneral Home with the Rev. Robert Fiske of Prescott United Methodist Church officiating.
