Andrew G. Impson of Wickenburg died August 4 in Wickenburg. He was 86.
Mr. Impson was born November 15, 1907 in Auburn, Iowa and had lived in Arizona for 24 years, moving here from Illinois. He grew up in Iowa and South Dakota.
Mr. Impson was raised by his grandmother, Mary Adair, who adopted him following his mother’s death. He married Martha Haas on May 8,1936 and they moved to Wickenburg in 1970.
Mr. Impson served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific as a chief petty officer during World War II and was a member of the American Legion. He resigned from the Lake County Government Courthouse as a printer at the beginning of 1970 after 15 years of employment.
Mr. Impson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Martha of Wickenburg; and sisters Opal Haas and Zoe Bangs, both of Rapid City, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Addie Impson.
Services will be held in Lawrence, Kansas at a later date.
