Constance M. “Connie” McClun of Congress died August 13 in Congress. She was 77.
Mrs. McClun was born January 9, 1917 in Portland, Oregon and had lived in Arizona two years, moving here from Oregon.
She was a registered nurse, holding both a bachelor of science and master’s degree in nursing. She was also a registered medical librarian and hospital administrator.
Mrs. McClun served in World War II in the Army Nursing Corp as a mobile field operating room chief nurse. She also taught nursing in Ontario, Oregon.
She retired as chairman of the Department of Nursing at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon in 1980. She was a member of the American Legion.
Mrs. McClun is survived by a brother Bud McCallister of Primerville, Oregon; seven nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend and nursing associate, Nan Thomason of Congress. She was preceded in death by her husband George in 1980.
At her request, there will be no services. Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
