Hermedine Jenkins of Congress died September 3, 1994 in Prescott. She was 72.
Mrs. Jenkins was born November 29, 1920 in Browning, Missouri and had lived in Yavapai County -- in Bagdad, Hillside, Prescott and Congress since 1946, moving here from Marengo, Iowa.
She retired in 1992 as the Congress librarian after 15 years of service and attended the First Baptist Church in Congress.
Mrs. Jenkins read a book a day all her life, right up until the last week. She enjoyed walking and taking care of her many house plants. She could grow anything and was proudest of her sons and their families.
Mrs. Jenkins is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Sharon Jenkins of Bagdad and Dave and Marilyn Jenkins of Chino Valley; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Letha Taylor of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sister and brothers-in-laws Shirley and Howard Langton of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and David DVorak of Palo, Iowa; grandchildren David, Kyle, Casey, Rhonda and Erin; and great-grandchildren Robert, Vance, Vince, Austin, Andrea, Stephanie, Caitlin, Hanna and Darbi.
Services have been Held. Interment was at the Congress Cemetery with the Rev. Steven M. Graber officiating.
Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott handled the arrangements.
