The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ September 14, 1994, p. 2 Chester D. “Sonny” Woods Jr. of Wickenburg died September 8 in Wickenburg. He was 61. Mr. Woods was born September 13, 1932 in Hearn, Texas and had lived in Arizona for 49 years. He retired from the Army Civil Service in 1987. He enjoyed walking, hiking, crossword puzzles and loved old movies. Mr. Woods is survived by sister and brother-in-law Maudine and John Cole of Phoenix; brother and sister-in-law Eugene K. and Doris Woods of Palestine, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Lela Woods in 1993 and a brother Leonard Woods, who was killed in active duty during World War II in Italy. Services for Mr. Woods were held Monday, September 12, and interment was at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Mike Abdollahzadeh and Deacon Phil Cockrell officiated. Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
