Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published Wednesday, February 23, 2011 - Ruth L. Youngdahl passed away Feb. 20, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 94. She was born to Herbert and Mae (Bender) Hunter July 4, 1916, in Falls, Pa. Ruth married her beloved William Youngdahl Sept. 17, 1938, and together they made Lake Havasu their home 31 years ago from Sun Prairie, Wis. They also resided in Pennsylvania, New York and Illinois. William and Ruth spent many memorable years traveling by motor home with the Colorado River Ramblers. Ruth was a member of St. Michael’s United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Christian Women’s. She spent many years as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery departments. Ruth leaves behind her beloved family, son, Robert Youngdahl, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Barbara Meissonnier, of Biot, France, and Lois Clark, of Whitewater, Wis.; sister, Dorothy Kerlin, of Tunkhannock, Pa.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William Youngdahl. Ruth’s life will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Michael’s United Methodist Church. Rev. Richard Rounds and Pastor Tom Mattick will offer words of comfort and inspiration. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Michael’s United Methodist Church, 2895 S. Jamaica Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406.
