Feb 28, 1945. Bennett Rites To Be Conducted This Afternoon.
Funeral services for Gertrude Fullerton Bennett, former Douglas resident, will be held at the First Baptist church this afternoon at 4 o'clock.
The Rev. C.I. Tucker will officiate and music will be furnished by a quartet of Miss Lucille Barnett, Mrs. Jackson Fones, N.L. Barnett, and D.K. Ingman.
The pall bearers will be W. G. Hofer, A.E. Hickman, Tom Campbell, Arthur Morse, Ed Powell, and M.E. Jacks.
Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.
For the past two years Mrs. Bennett had made her home with her daughter in Wilmington, Calif. Mrs. Bennett was born in Canton, Tenn., Dec 22, 1878 and died at Long Beach, Calif., last Feb 23. She was married to George Curry Bennett, July 3, 1901, and came to Douglas in 1920. There were six children born to the union, two of whom survive, Thomas K. Bennett, with the armed forces in the south Pacific, and Mrs. Don E. William, of Wilmington, Calif.
