WELLER, Orville N.

Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, Arizona - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from February 23 to March 2, 2011 - Orville N. Weller, age 83, a 21-year resident of Bullhead City, made his transition forward on Friday, February 18, 2011, in Bullhead City, Ariz. Orville was born August 18, 1927, in Grand Rapids, Mich. He was a child of the Great Depression and started working at the age of 12 to help support his family. As a boy, hunting and fishing was not just a hobby, but a necessity to put food on the table - ammo was expensive and every shot counted. Orville joined the Navy during WWII, and served his country for six years, stationed on many aircraft carriers. He had a keen knowledge of mechanical devices and could fix anything - lots of autos, and lots of friends that needed things fixed. Orville truly had the knack of a master mechanic! Orville was the plant maintenance supervisor for Robert Shaw Controls in Buena Park, Calif., until his retirement. During retirement in Bullhead City, hunting and fishing became quite a time consuming hobby. Orville enjoyed every minute of his retirement until Alzheimer's began to take its toll, and then it was time to move on. Orville's positive caring personality "the essence of Orville" was always there. We will all miss him dearly. Orville is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Belinda; three granddaughters; and four great-grandsons.
