Lawrence A. “Larry” Wilson of Wickenburg died October 5 in Wickenburg. He was 73.
Mr. Wilson was born October 29, 1920 in Ashton, South Dakota. He had lived in Arizona for the past 20 years, coming from Minnesota.
Mr. Wilson was in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Minnesota in 1936. He was a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 49, for 30 years in Minnesota. Mr. Wilson was a 25-plus year member of the Masonic Lodge.
In Arizona, he enjoyed writing, wood carving and gold mining. He retired from the Salt River Project in 1986.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Gayle, of Wickenburg; daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Don Koss of Sterling Heights, Michigan; daughter Barbara Wilson of Seattle; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Joyce Wilson of Randolph, Minnesota; sister and brother-in-law Elayne and John Bilka of Rockford, Illinois; sister Delores Moberg of Rockford, Illinois; brothers and sisters in-law Paul and Helen Rudisill of Utica, Michigan and Cecil and Helen Wilson of Grand Rapids, Minnesota; grandchildren Kari Furlong of Welch, Minnesota, Tiger Wilson of Randolph, Minnesota, Stephanie Koss of Sterling Heights, Michigan and McKenzie Wilson of Seattle; and great-grandchildren Cody and Sierra Furlong of Welch, Minnesota.
Local services were held October 6 at the Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg.
Funeral services were Tuesday (October 11) at the George Boom Mortuary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with Chaplain Ray Peterson officiating. Burial was in the Hartford Cemetery in Hartford, South Dakota.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Wilson’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
Frey Funeral Home in Wickenburg was in charge of all arrangements.
