Daniel Sheridan Mooney, 49, passed away in Lake Havasu City, Feb. 19, 2011. He was born April 27, 1961, in Corvallis, Ore., to Robert and Geraldine.
Daniel was raised in Half Moon Bay, Calif., and graduated from Gustine High School. He went on to earn his degree in journalism at California State University Fresno. He was a sports writer and copy editor at various newspapers, including the Merced Sun Star, the Fresno Bee, the Poughkeepsie Journal, the Portland Oregonian and the Palm Springs Desert Sun. Daniel Moved to Lake Havasu City eight months ago. Daniel will be deeply missed and forever loved by all those that knew and loved him.
Daniel is survived by his son, Trevor Mooney, of Portland, Ore.; father, Robert (Harriet) Mooney, of Fox Island, Wash.; brother, Robert Mooney, of Palm Springs, Calif.; sister, Susan (Chris) Johnson, of Huntsville, Utah; step-brothers, Randy Lasley, of Dallas, Texas, and Geoffry Lasley, of Taiwan; as well as Marta McGovern, of Novato, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Claire (Holland) Lasley, of Holtville, Calif., and step-father, Robert Lasley, of Holtville, Calif.
