DECLAY, Paul, Sr.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 25, 2011 Paul DeClay Sr. entered into rest Feb. 18, 2011, in Show Low. He was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Canyon Day. Paul was a veteran of the United States Navy, Marines Corps serving in World War II, "Freedom from fear and want, Freedom of speech and religion." He will dearly be missed by his family, friends and relatives. Paul is remembered and loved by his sons: Jeris DeClay, Serrano DeClay, Aaron DeClay, Patrick DeClay, Matthew DeClay; daughters: Evangeline D. Williams, Janice D. Charley, Paulena D. Burnette; 47 grandchildren, 82 great-grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly (Clarkson) DeClay; sons: Stephen DeClay Sr., Donnie DeClay, Paul DeClay Jr.; and grandsons: Elvis DeClay, Fernando DeClay. A two-night wake started at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Janice Charley's residence (5830 N. 2nd St.) in North Fork. Home services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Family residence in North Fork. Interment will be at the Whiteriver Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
