The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ February 27, 2011 Jerome Kasey, Jr. "J Bar," 45, of Whiteriver died Feb. 21, 2011, in Globe. He was born June 20, 1965, in Whiteriver to Jerome Kasey, Sr. and Marie (White) Kasey. Jerome loved the outdoors and spending time driving the back roads of the Reservation. He enjoyed cooking and being with his grandchildren. He was an avid Rodeo fan and participated in many jackpot ropings. He is survived by his four daughters: Kathy Kandy Kasey, Rose Marie Kasey, Jennifer Lynn Kasey, Rochelle Kasey; three sons: Jerome Kasey III, Henry Colelay, Brandon Kasey; seven grandchildren; two godsons: Ethan and Eli Cosen; his companion, Joyce Cheney; parents Slim and Marie Quay; six sisters: Marjorie (Robert) Romero, Genevieve (Ernie West) Lupe, Valerie (Raymond) Burnette, Vonda (Marcus Sr.) Bonito, Jodi Quay, Christine Smith and two brothers, Mark Quay and Linwood Lee. He was preceded in death by his father Jerome Kasey Sr., and godson Garrison George. A two-night wake will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the family residence, 672 N. 2nd Ave. in Whiteriver. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Canyon Day Miracle Church in Canyon Day. Interment will follow in the Whiteriver Cemetery.
