Lake Havasu Mortuary & Crematory, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Published on March 1, 2011 - Effie Marie Jones, 88, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was born on July 14, 1922 in Cunningham, Kansas to Claud and Lillian Hayden. Effie married her husband, Thurman Yancey Jones, on February 22, 1948 in Long Beach, CA. Together they were married 34 years before his death in 1982. Effie was a pioneer of Lake Havasu, moving here in 1975, coming from Garden Grove, CA. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who would always put her family before herself. Effie was one who could always be counted on for her honesty and love. She will forever be "our best friend" who will be deeply missed and always loved. Effie is survived by her daughter, Terry (Bill) Morgan of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; grandchildren, Deanna Eaton of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Will and Patrcik Morgan of Lake Havasu City, AZ.; great grandchildren, Katie Shelton and Kelsey Delecruz of Rock Springs, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Thurman Jones on June 14, 1982.
