COLYOTT, Roye Edward, Sr.


Arizona Silver Belt, Globe, AZ Wednesday, February 23, 2011 Roye Edward Colyott, Sr., age 92, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe. Roye was born in Lesterville, Mo. on Jan. 12, 1919, the son of Laura M. (Rayfield) and William C. Colyott. Roye worked all his life as a pipe fitter and traveled all over the United States. He was working on Diamond Head in Hawaii the day Pearl Harbor was attacked. He married Jackie in 1945 and they settled down in Globe in 1968. He was a dedicated member of the Masons and Eastern Star. Roye loved camping, fishing, tinkering, gardening and anything to do with the outdoors. He and Jackie were full-time camp hosts at Windy Hill and that was one of the happiest times in his life. Roye leaves behind in loving memory his wife of 62 years, Jackie of Globe; daughter, Laura Bryant of Payson; sons, Woodrow of Washington, Eddie (Sharon) of Roosevelt, Danny (Gayle) of Globe, and Charles of Globe; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Colyott, Gene Colyott and Grover Colyott; sisters, Mary Lemon and Wilma Moore; one daughter, Gayle; one son, John Allen; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials are suggested to: Gila County Animal Shelter, 700 W. Hackney Ave, Globe, AZ 85501. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 from noon to 1 p.m. at Miles Funeral Services Globe Chapel, 237 S. Sutherland St. in Globe. Funeral services will be follow at 1 p.m. Interment will be at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Roye E. Colyott were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe
