Sally H. Moreno, age 83 of Claypool, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at her home. She was born in Miami, Ariz., on Jan. 10, 1928, the daughter of Maria and Ramon Hernandez.
Sally was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Spending time with her family was a very important part of her life.
She was a deeply religious woman and spent many hours a day in prayer. Even through her illness, her faith in God was never wavered. She devoted most of her life to serving others throughout the community by visiting the sick and offering them holy communion in their homes, the hospital, and the nursing homes. She truly enjoyed those moments talking to and helping others whether she knew them or not.
She served as a Eucharistic minister for over 25 years at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church and helped with the upkeep of the St. Joseph’s Church in Claypool up until her illness prevented her from doing so.
Left in loving memory are her daughters, Josie Baca of Tempe, Cathy Murphy of Claypool, Irene (Al) Gameros of Globe, Anita (Mark) Escobedo of Globe, and Diane (Tom) Wandrie of Gilbert; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac; brothers, Frank Hernandez and Joe Hernandez; sister, Mary Encizo; and grandson, Dusty Murphy.
