Tommy Thompson, 76, died Feb. 24, 2011, at Flagstaff Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 9, 1934, to George and Tommy Lou Thompson in Leupp.
He was a Christian cowboy, retired forest industry worker, lifelong rancher and dedicated family man.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his devoted wife of more than 43 years, Carolyn Thompson; children Cheryl (Richard) Redsteer, Charlene Thompson, Jolene Long and Terry Thompson; sister Elaine Yazzie; brother Jackie Thompson; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents George and Tommy Lou Thompson; sisters Donna T. Riggs, Mae Rose Thompson, Rosie Curley, Sophie D. Thompson, Helen T. Jones, Lena Granger and Minnie Joe; brothers Jimmy Thompson, Julius Thompson and Elwood Thompson; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m., at the Leupp Nazarene Church, with burial services to be concluded at the Round Cedar Cemetery. There will be a reception at the Leupp Nazarene Church Reception Hall following the burial.
