Mary Posten-Noble, 96, of Flagstaff, died Feb. 23, 2011. She was born Oct. 6, 1914, in St. Paul, Minn., and was raised in Santa Monica, Calif.
She was married to Robert S. Posten and moved to Douglas in 1937. They raised four children in Douglas. Mrs. Posten-Noble was an executive secretary for Phelps Dodge Corporation until she retired in 1979.
Bob Posten died in 1977. Mrs. Posten-Noble met and married F.H. "Bob" Noble in 1983. They moved to Sun City in the late '80s. After Mr. Noble died in 1990, Mrs. Posten-Noble moved to Flagstaff to be near her family.
She is survived by her children, Robert Posten (Linda) of San Marcos, Calif., Pamela Meyer (Woody) of Citrus Heights, Calif., Melissa Edel (Dan) of Flagstaff and Barbara Weland of Prescott; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Thomas Weland; and two grandchildren.
She lived at the Peaks Senior Living Center for several years before her death. Her family wishes to express their thanks for the loving care and attention given to Mrs. Posten-Noble by the caregivers at the Peaks, and the nurses and caregivers from Hospice Compassus.
A funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. Interment will be Friday at the Calvary Cemetery in Douglas.
