Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Published Wednesday, March 2, 2011 - Robert Lawrence Williams passed away Feb. 27, 2011 in Lake Havasu City, at the age of 92. He was born to Harry and Bertie (Lingle) Williams on July 25, 1918 in Ullin, Ill. Robert served under the direction of the United States Army during World War II as a paratrooper, receiving the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was the past exalted ruler of the Parker Elks, VFW, DAV, Eagles and American Legion. Robert leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years Faye Williams of Lake Havasu City; son Timothy A. (Valle) Williams of Flagstaff; sisters Virginia Freeman of Wash. and Rosemary Rash of Calif.; grandchildren, Bethany, Isaiah, Rebekah, Abigail, Timothy; step grandchildren Desire, David and Krystal; six step great grandchildren and her best friend of 37 years Boots Hines. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Bertie; two brothers Roy and Woody and her sister Isabelle.
